RIMINIWELLNESS 2026: TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION TRACES THE NEW BOUNDARIES OF WELLNESS AND PERFORMANCE

  • The Innovation Area at Italian Exhibition Group’s event will be extended to host 30 start-ups, affirming its role as a strategic hub for innovation and international technological research
  • From Sport & Space Economy to active longevity: from 28th to 31st May at Rimini Expo Centre, cutting-edge solutions in artificial intelligence, wearables and functional nutrition
  • Business strategies and training: from the panel discussion on Longevity to the debut of Reverse Pitching and new projects for schools.

Rimini, 7th April 2026 The consolidation of the Innovation Area at RiminiWellness, the international event of reference for the wellness industry, organised by IEG -Italian Exhibition Group, marks a new milestone in technology and health integration. In 2026, the initiative will be reasserting its role as a prime observatory for identifying the sector’s most advanced trends, from preventive medicine to sports tourism. A dynamic ecosystem where 30 start-ups, scale-ups and university spin-offs will be presenting wearable devices, digital applications and AI services ready to revolutionise the nutrition, fitness and longevity sectors.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS AND BIOTECHNOLOGIES: EVOLUTIONS IN PERFORMANCE AND SAFETY

The Innovation Area will redefine the parameters of wellbeing through solutions that combine automation and bioengineering. Personal hygiene will evolve with Clean OS S.r.l.’s SmartBrush, designed for deep and thorough cleaning in just 30 seconds per arch, whilst the professional fitness sector will embrace the wireless technology of Austrian firm GO PRO ICON EMS GmbH, whose 26-electrode suit ensures full muscle activation in 20-minute sessions. Club optimisation will be achieved through FitButlr™ by GYM3000.com, the intelligent NFC towel that allows managers to monetise services by digitising users’ established habits. On the deep well-being front, Health Spectrum Laboratories will be presenting WAVE, a carbon-fibre chaise longue that uses Harmonic Frequencies to induce relaxation, whilst the semantic artificial intelligence developed by Myndoor s.r.l. monitors early signs of stress. Lastly, athlete safety will entrust in research by O-DAMP, a Bologna University spin-off that integrates non-Newtonian fluids into protective gear that can neutralise rotational accelerations, the main cause of head injuries.

FUNCTIONAL NUTRITION AND NEW DIGITAL MODELS
Nuhpro srl
will be demonstrating the evolution of food as medicine with functional nutrition and longevity solutions designed to combat sarcopenia and support women’s health. In physical recovery, PureVital will be introducing the infrared ozone sauna and active oxygen for deep detoxification and energy boost, whilst SportID will digitise the relationship between athletes and facilities through its Digital Sports Identity (IDS), integrating technical and management data. Business model scalability in wellness tourism will be the focus of The Crowd, a crowdfunding and ticketing platform designed to co-design events and retreats by validating market demand in real time.

BUSINESS STRATEGIES AND PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING
The Fitness Innovation Arena will open on Thursday 28th May with an EPSI (European Platform for Sport Innovation) workshop entitled “Active Ecosystems: Aligning Investment and Innovation”, organised and moderated by Alberto Bichi, Executive Director of EPSI, with contributions from Kristina Jokelainen, founder of SmartNorth Ltd and expert in Smart Specialisation, Building Regional Ecosystems, Interregional Collaboration and EU Affairs, and Mike Yang, Founder and CEO of AquaBloom International Sports Technology Group. The technical-scientific programme, coordinated by Tecnopolo in Rimini, Bologna University and Clust-ER Health and Tourism, will include two workshops on Saturday 30th in the Fitness Innovation Arena: “Development Trends for Start-ups: Internationalisation and Funding Sources” with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), Venture Capital, Istituto Credito Sportivo e Culturale and Sella Lab; and “The Incubator and Accelerator System: a comparison of models”, attended by various innovation incubators such as Cesena Lab, San Marino Innovation, Wylab, Trentino Sviluppo, Le village and ALMA CUBE. The day will culminate with Reverse Pitching, moderated by Cluster Health: a dynamic session in which investors, advisors and accelerator programmes will take to the stage to explain to start-ups what they are looking for in innovative wellbeing and digital health projects. Therefore, instead of the start-ups making their presentations, key players in the innovation ecosystem will be sharing priorities, evaluation criteria, emerging trends and the areas of greatest market interest. Invitalia, the National Development Agency, will be one of the Innovation area’s technical partners and will also sit on the judging panel to evaluate the selected start-ups’ pitches, awarding a prize in the form of services (guidance, support and matchmaking) to the top three. The Invitalia desk will also be available to provide information on the range of incentives and services the Agency offers to innovative start-ups and also host one-to-one meetings for start-up founders and aspiring entrepreneurs.

LONGEVITY AND RESEARCH: ECONOMIC AND SCIENTIFIC SCENARIOS
With a global value of €500 billion, longevity is emerging as an economic asset and will be the strategic focus of the “Longevity and Lifestyle: Science, Business and Investment” panel discussion. The meeting will address the sector’s evolution in Italy and Europe, combining the bio-scientific expertise of Lucia Magnani, CEO of Lucia Magnani Health Clinic, and Francesco Dalla Villa, Scientific Director at Isokinetic, with market trends analysed by Daniela Bianco, partner at Community Longevity+. Investment trends and M&A activities for wellness centre consolidation will be summarised in presentations by Marco Biffi, CEO of Business Fit Consulting, and Luca Amedeo Masobello, partner at Vam Investments, who will outline the sector’s new paths to profitability. The scientific programme will draw to an end on Sunday 31st May with the academic excellence of the Ilenia Scarantino Award, promoted by Gruppo Sicilia in collaboration with the Universities of Palermo and Catania: Sports Science students from the respective universities will present targeted research on Sicilian phytonutrients and their decisive impact on high-level sporting performance.

EDUCATION, PREVENTION AND MENTAL WELLBEING
The “RiminiWellness for Schools” project will be presented In the Performance Arena on Saturday 30th May. Developed in collaboration with Unigoo, an organisation that specialises in the development of educational experiences and educational trips, the event will feature former swimming champion Massimiliano Rosolino. On the same day, the Wellness Arena will be staging the RiminiWellness premiere of “The Heart Show”, the immersive format by cardiologist and populariser Davide Terranova, supported by FIF, which transforms prevention into an emotional and immersive narrative. On Thursday 28th in the Performance Arena, the focus will be on the use of biofeedback and neurofeedback for stress management in clubs, with Igor Castiglia and his talk “From Fitness to Stress Management”.

Rimini, 18th March 2026 – The decision-making epicentre of global wellbeing: this is the trajectory of the 20th edition of RiminiWellness, Italian Exhibition Group’s (IEG) fitness, wellness, sport and healthy eating event, which further strengthens its positioning as a strategic platform for international business. The event, scheduled to take place from 28th to 31st May at Rimini Expo Centre and on the Riviera, will transform the exhibition facility into an ecosystem where institutions, large club chains and technological innovators will define the industry’s global scenario, where the rules of tomorrow's market are written through direct debate between the world's top stakeholders.

THE SECTOR’S WORLD LEADERS IN RIMINI: WORLD ACTIVE AND GLOBAL LEADERS

World Active, the global platform that unites fitness, wellness and physical activity associations and professional registers, announces its Third World Active Summit, taking place on Friday, 29 May 2026, in partnership with RiminiWellness in Rimini, Italy. This year’s Summit will be of particular significance. In addition to strategic dialogue among international leaders, the event will host the World Active General Assembly and the election of a new Board of Directors, a decisive moment that will shape the next chapter of the organization and define its global leadership for the coming term as well as help position physical activity as a central pillar of public health, prevention and economic sustainability including cooperation with global institutions such as the World Health Organization.

The Global Fitness Leaders Meeting, a summit co-organized by REPs Polska and Poland Active, will take place concurrently on Saturday, May 30. Its purpose is to exchange knowledge and experience on fitness education systems, professional registration, and international standards, as well as to support trainer mobility and cooperation across borders. The meeting will feature leaders from over 20 countries and their representatives, including Amy Boone Thompson and Graham Melstrand (USA), Richard Beddie (New Zealand), Monica Marques (Brazil), Samir Kapoor (India), Catherine Hanson (UAE), Spencer Moore (UK), and Mohamed Mahmoud (Egypt). The network will also be represented by delegates from Oman (Fatemah Raeisi, Julie Willetts), the Czech Republic (Jana Havrdová, Klára Benešová), Poland (Edyta Bartejczuk-Wolak), Italy (Luca Dutto), Ukraine (Marina Toropova, Vadim Gumenuk), Malta (Mahdi Jafargholizadeh), and the Netherlands (Emiel Van Triest). Participants will take part in person, via Zoom, or through national presentations to foster open dialogue aimed at building an ethical and globally connected fitness industry.

SCIENCE AND PERFORMANCE: ISOKINETIC SPORTS MEDICINE PARTNER

The Health sector of RiminiWellness 2026 is further strengthened through a partnership with Isokinetic, an international medical group and FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence and Sports Medicine Partner. Specialising in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of orthopaedic and sports injuries, Isokinetic stands out for a specific clinical approach that adheres to rigorous biological and biomechanical criteria in its daily pursuit of excellence for the patient. At RiminiWellness an elite multidisciplinary team including sports doctors, physiatrists, physiotherapists, chiropractors and nutritionists will be on hand to share specialised clinical activities and personalised approaches that integrate FIFA sports medicine at the heart of the wellness industry. The group will participate with technical and scientific content and brand vision led by scientific director Francesco della Villa: “The Isokinetic Medical Group is delighted to be the Sports Medicine partner for the upcoming edition of RiminiWellness,” he stated, emphasising how the two organisations share the same strategic objective: to improve quality of life through exercise and the promotion of an active lifestyle.

INNOVATION AND BUSINESS: INDUSTRY LEADERS IN ARENA

Business contents at RiminiWellness will be enhanced by new speakers: Industry Leaders—international professionals recognized globally for their vision of how to develop fitness from a corporate perspective—and Industry Experts: industry experts and professionals who will focus on topics like health, wellness travel, nutrition, and physiotherapy, with a particular emphasis on the Italian market.

The debate on the future of fitness, wellness, and physical activity clubs will take place in the Fitness Innovation Arena located in Hall B3 and will start with the workshop "How gyms can unlock new revenue streams by understanding real user needs", From Memberships to Meaning, an interactive workshop led by Natalia Karbasova (Founder, FitTech Club), one of Europe's leading voices on fitness business transformation. The session will address a critical challenge facing the industry: as member expectations evolve beyond physical fitness toward longevity, community, and personal meaning, most operators still compete on price and equipment alone. Through moderated panels and structured expert networking, Karbasova and six international industry leaders will map concrete revenue opportunities across three shifts reshaping the market: premium brand positioning, the rapidly growing 45+ longevity economy, and AI-driven personalization. Contributing to the session will be Jörg Fockenberg (RSG Group), Emma Barry (Trouble Global), Naomie Martín (Mio Clubs), Jürgen Mehrtens (YEARS), Jörn Watzke (Garmin Health), and Anton Marchanka (Zing Coach). The workshop will close with themed expert tables, giving operators direct access to speakers for guidance on their own business models — a format designed to turn strategic insight into actionable next steps. This will be followed by a workshop with a focus on "Human First, Tech Forward: AI’s Role in the Future of Fitness & Health Coaching", with Kathleen Ferguson and Igor Castiglia. The event will explore the role of artificial intelligence in coaching, balancing technological value with the central importance of human connection. Castiglia, an industry expert with extensive experience in the fitness sector, will also lead the talk “From Fitness to Stress Management: how clubs can truly influence people’s wellbeing”: tools, skills and technologies that enable clubs to provide spaces capable of enhancing both athletic performance and an individual’s physiological balance.

The day’s programme will be rounded off by the REX Roundtables, moderated by Fausto Di Giulio. The REX World Fitness Panel will bring to Rimini the international visions of Aleksander Wilewski (Poland), Fahad Alhagbani (Armah Sports Company, Saudi Arabia), and Barry Walsh (Iconic Health Clubs, Ireland). At the same time, a specific focus will be placed on developing the domestic market through the contributions of Matteo Morandini (Passion Fitness Roma), Andrea Bacci (Golden Sporting Calenzano), Massimo Iermani and Pasquale Balbi (Catena Pump), who will share three different business models for addressing the challenges of the Italian fitness industry. Palestre di Successo’s training program and Alessandro Madonia’s strategic business consulting will be back, featuring five sessions designed for gym owners and trainers to help them expand their businesses with tailored-made solutions.

Numerous topics will be addressed over the four days of the event in the various arenas at RiminiWellness: inclusion, physiotherapy, holistic wellbeing, wellness travel, nutrition and health, with Industry Experts Andrea De Beni, who will be presenting the Adaptive Workout, a free body, clear mind and open heart workout designed to stimulate growth and overcome physical and other limits with creativity; Simona Oberhammer, Mondadori bestselling author, who will be presenting the book “The Gymintima Method - Intimate gymnastics for women, men and athletes” on the importance of the pelvic muscles for sports performance; Paola Rizzitelli will be heading a panel on wellness tourism with the participation of Simona Tedeschi, director of DOVE, Vincenzo Primitivo, spa doctor, Raffaella DiSipio, director of ItalCares, Annalisa Giannini from IEG’s congress division, and Elena Andreoli from Terme di Comano.

Lastly, through its Culinary Wellness Solutions, the ALMA – The International School of Italian Cuisine has chosen Rimini to launch its new Master in Health and Performance Chef, transforming food into a strategic asset for longevity clinics, sports companies and B2B hospitality.

RIMINIWELLNESS STRENGTHENS ITS LEADERSHIP BETWEEN SPORT, SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION

·        IEG’s international event, scheduled for 28-31 May at Rimini Expo Centre and the Riviera, extends its offer of scientific content for health and sports professionals

·        The Health area will be bigger with a calendar of events that will include sports medicine, rehabilitation, training and nutrition

·        The Beauty Area will be making its debut with events, experiences and in-depth discussions on cosmeceuticals, active skincare and sport

Rimini, 3rd March 2026 – Sports medicine, advanced rehabilitation and nutraceuticals will be the focus of RiminiWellness 2026, the international fitness, sport, wellness and healthy eating event, organised by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG). Scheduled to take place from 28th to 31st May at Rimini Expo Centre and on the Riviera, the 20th edition will combine high-profile training, scientific innovation, and discussion between professionals, companies and communities, strengthening the event's international flair and its ability to anticipate developments in the sector.

SPORTS MEDICINE between TRAINING AND INNOVATION

The Health area will be a meeting point of excellence between sport and science. A unique opportunity to improve skills, discover the sector’s latest developments and meet a qualified audience of professionals through advanced training sessions and workshops aimed at physiotherapists, osteopaths and sports doctors. These will include the Project Invictus area and content from FisioScience, one of the most authoritative communities in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, which will feature Valerio Barbari in sessions offering specialist speeches and talks on the most relevant topics in modern rehabilitation. Sunday 31st May will see a conference on “Sport-Omics and Epigenetics in Performance: Training, Resilience, Recovery and Endurance” with Giorgio Terziani, visiting professor in wellness disciplines at the Saint George training school. In addition, thanks to Obiettivo Performance, the Velocity Based Training Summit will be held on the same day. With Antonio Squillante in attendance, the training event will focus on the theoretical and practical exploration of one of the most advanced methods for monitoring and self-regulating training through execution speed analysis.

THE MOVEMENT & THERAPY SUMMIT WILL BE BACK

The new frontiers of rehabilitation and sports performance will be spotlighted with the Movement & Therapy Summit on Friday 29th May, an area for interdisciplinary dialogue between science and practical application, created with the aim of overcoming the fragmentation between the clinical and training fields. Conceived by Marco Rovatti, doctor of physiotherapy and qualified osteopath, registered with the ROI – Italian Osteopath Register, (FT, DO, SM, MSc), the summit will host Gray Cook for the first time in our country, founder of the FMS - Functional Movement Screen protocol and co-creator, together with Lee Burton, of the SFMA - Selective Functional Movement Assessment. The programme foresees an international conference entirely dedicated to the two systems - FMS and SFMA - tools for the screening and selective analysis of functional movements. The project was made possible thanks to collaboration with Daniele Barbieri (DC, MSc), representative and manager Functional Movement System Inc. in Italy, a company specialising in movement analysis training.

NUTRILAB, THE NEW NUTRACEUTICAL AREA

In the Nutraceutical Area, the new NutriLab will host a programme of talks designed to offer companies the chance to present their products to industry professionals and inform end consumers. Thanks to collaboration with the Scientific Committee of Bologna University, Urbino University and the Catholic University, professionals will have access to training on topics such as gastrointestinal health, cognitive decline and the cardiovascular system. These will include the conference entitled “Nutrition: where are we going”, scheduled for Friday 29th May and moderated by Giacomo Astrua of Noritura, on the topics of nutrition and longevity with Matteo Cerboneschi, Etta Finocchiaro, Paola Stavolone and Giacomo Fattori. This will be followed on Saturday 30th May by an international masterclass for sports professionals entitled “Performance in mixed and power sports: nutrition, supplementation and other dominant factors”, with speakers such as Julien Louis, Jorunn Sundgot Borgen, Gian Mario Migliaccio and Daniele Mozzone. Sunday 31st May will be the turn of “Nutrition and lifestyles” with Cristina Angeloni for a global perspective on supplementation in sport and the promotion of wellness-oriented habits with Erica Lombardi, Giorgia Saccone, Maria Eleonora Missere and Samuele Marcora from Unibo. This will be followed by “Lifestyles, Nutrition, Food Supplementation”, organised by Andrea Tarozzi and Ettore Novel.

THE NEW BEAUTY AREA

Nutraceuticals are broadening their horizons by opening up to cosmeceuticals and the beauty sector, strengthening the link between active lifestyles and skincare, which is now reflected in increasingly structured market offerings. This trend will be further consolidated at RiminiWellness thanks to the involvement of prestigious brands that recognise beauty as an essential element for those who practise sport. Hence the creation of the new Beauty Area, an area designed for consumers who consider self-care a natural extension of their lifestyle. The core of new entry will be the Beauty House, a lounge specifically for direct experiences and exclusive insights. The programme will include product launches, tests and talks on pre- and post-activity skincare — essential for the recovery of skin stressed by physical exercise — as well as advice on hair beauty, nail art, and long-lasting make-up, as well as meet and greets with influencers and leading beauty editors. In this interdisciplinary hub, beauty will become dynamism and energy, offering concrete tools for those seeking a balance between holistic well-being and performance.

Comunicato n. 2 del 03/03/2026

RIMINIWELLNESS 2026: THE 20-YEAR EDITION WILL INAUGURATE A NEW AGE OF WELLNESS

  • Italian Exhibition Group’s fitness, sport, wellness and healthy eating event will be back from 28th to 31st May with a global spirit
  • An evolving ecosystem that integrates fitness, sport, sports medicine, nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals, expanding the event's content and audience
  • “Go Through”, an attitude that becomes a way of life, redefining the relationship between body and space
  • RiminiWellness OFF will be back to connect the Show, the city and the entire Riviera in one single experience of movement and longevity

Rimini, 18th December 2025 – Body and dynamism, performance and innovation, movement and energy. This is the complete vision of wellness at RiminiWellness 2026, scheduled to take place at Rimini Expo Centre and on the Riviera from 28th to 31st May, to celebrate 20 years of the Italian Exhibition Group event. A milestone that opens a new chapter in the global promotion of healthy lifestyles with “Go Through”, the edition’s claim that sums up an immersive and dynamic event that will cross mind, body, spirit and environment.

2026 EDITION PREVIEWS

After the success of the 2025 edition, which confirmed RiminiWellness as a global platform for business, networking and on-the-move wellness culture with a 32% increase in the attendance of enthusiasts, athletes and professionals from all over the world, RiminiWellness 2026 will further strengthen the Health macro-theme, the common thread that links every area of the event.

Rimini Expo Centre’s 30 halls will host equipment, services and solutions to illustrate the sector’s evolution and confirm the growth of leading national and international brands. Fitness, sports medicine and physiotherapy contents will be central with movement increasingly understood as a tool for prevention, wellness, and quality of life, also in terms of longevity.

RiminiWellness will broaden the target audience by involving sports doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists and qualified operators, boosting the contents to respond to a more complete and aware demand for wellness. Nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals will also increase: the Active Beauty area, inaugurated in 2023, will combine aesthetics and physiological benefits through advanced formulations with a scientific, health-oriented approach.

Lastly, RiminiWellness 2026 will consolidate the experiential and supply chain trade show model with a “test and learn” logic by involving companies, professionals and end-users. To further strengthen international leadership, 2026 will inaugurate new networking projects, especially the two activities linked to Industry Leaders, with international speakers able to engage professionals and others on the topics of innovation in sport, business fitness, wellness trends, hospitality, travel destinations and sustainability, supported by Industry Experts, a team of sector experts that can make this content accessible to the entire community.

FROM ART TO WELLNESS
The new RiminiWellness 2026 campaign draws inspiration from the dynamic art of Boccioni and Balla. In the visual, training becomes pure energy, a flow that merges the athlete with the surrounding area. The protagonist of the campaign is an athlete with blurred contours, immersed in an out-of-focus space where, rather than the sporting gesture, it is the trace it leaves that counts, a rhythm that expands beyond physical, mental and geographical boundaries. A movement that becomes experience.

GO THROUGH: THE ART OF CROSSING MOVEMENT
Go Through” it is not just a theme, but a way of life that the coming 2026 edition will propose. It is the physical crossing of the halls, the Expo Centre, the city and the Riviera, but also a mental, emotional and sensorial crossing. The experience becomes complete only by letting oneself be crossed by movement, and immersing oneself in its continuously transforming energy. The concept translates into a vibrant visual imagery, a powerful, contemporary language that speaks to a large, heterogeneous and constantly growing community.

RIMINIWELLNESS OFF: WELLNESS WITH NO BOUNDARIES
RiminiWellness it is not confined to the Expo Centre: in 2026, the event will once again extend across the entire city and the Riviera with activities, events and participatory moments that will involve residents, athletes, gyms and local companies. This is the spirit of RiminiWellness OFF, which, now at its fourth edition, will accompany the Show with widespread and complementary initiatives, creating a unique wellness experience across the entire urban fabric.
